Donate a Dinner

The Donate a Dinner Campaign operates on a simple yet impactful premise: participating restaurants create set-priced meals specifically designed for food-insecure individuals, taking into account dietary preferences and restrictions. These meals are then made available for purchase by patrons, with a portion of the proceeds allocated towards sponsoring meals for those who cannot afford them.

These meals are then made available for purchase by patrons, with a portion of the proceeds allocated towards sponsoring meals for those who cannot afford them.

Restaurants interested in participating in the Donate a Dinner Campaign are provided with guidelines and resources to create inclusive and affordable meal options for food-insecure individuals. Charities will organise for those in need to sign up and have their requested meals based on the set-menu of food that would have otherwise been wasted by food retailers.

Impact and Benefits: The Donate a Dinner Campaign yields a multitude of benefits for all stakeholders involved. Restaurants have the opportunity to showcase their commitment to social responsibility and community engagement, attracting new customers and enhancing their brand reputation. Charitable organizations benefit from increased support and resources to address food insecurity, while individuals facing hunger gain access to nutritious meals and a sense of dignity and inclusion. It will also highlight that there are labels that are mismatched with the actual needs of society. There are several differences between labelling such as best before, sell by, expiration date that could lead to food being donated as oppose to it being disposed of, as Bermuda’s Samaritan Act 2015 allows for businesses to give food without vicarious liability.
